Deborah Duncan is celebrating 20 years with KHOU 11 Houston, first as a morning news anchor, then as host of "Great Day Houston."

And to think, the multiple award-winning Duncan originally was on a track for a pediatric neurosurgeon career, but a drama teacher and family member who worked for CBS convinced her to try journalism. 

"I really know what it means now, when people say, 'Time flies when you're having fun,'" Duncan posted on Instagram.

"Thanks to all my co-workers for making 20 years such a labor of love! I love you all!!! And to our viewers and past live audience members, thanks for letting us share your stories and highlight Houston!"
