          Katarina was the daughter of the knight Birger Pettersson and his second wife Ingeborg Bengtsdotter.

          She was also the sister of Bridget of Sweden (Saint Birgitta).

          September 20, 1316, she married Magnus Gudmarsson of House of Ulvåsa.
